1. Create Portfolio Website for Your Fiverr Account:
Having a website for your Fiverr account is huge boost. This is your virtual office and you’re the CEO of the office. So you have full control over it. You can showcase your portfolio and past experience even if you do not have any ratings on Fiverr. You at least have experience and you are able to make things in your niche. Just upload them on your website and showcase your portfolio & expertise.
Write something cool about you and your expertise. Give a reason to your future buyers to hire you. But be honest while writing about you & your expertise. Sometimes client will ask about your past work samples on Fiverr, just send them your Portfolio URL. It creates a huge positive vibe on your client’s mind.
Create some offers on your website and describe your services and link them to your Fiverr gigs & profile so they can order those service going back to Fiverr. Fiverr keeps track of every incoming URL and if your buyer goes back to your Fiverr profile/gig from your website, you will be awarded behind the scenes.
Website Specification & Estimated Cost
This website should be very specific to your Fiverr account. Try do choose a domain name matching with your Fiverr Username or your real name. If the domain is not available then try something very aligned with your Fiverr account. Just make sure your domain ends with .COM and try to avoid other TLDs or extension e.g: .org, .net, .info, etc. Stick with .COM for your case. Also try to use short domain and it’s better to not exceed 13 characters. A domain will cost around $10 USD per year.
The next step is signup for a hosting. You do not need a dedicated or VPS hosting. A cheap hosting (shared hosting) should be just fine for you. If possible try to avoid purchasing from resellers. A shared hosting will cost $20 to $32.
So the total cost for your website will be ($10 + $20) = $30 USD. That’s it! There are no other expenses building a portfolio website for your Fiverr account. Once you bought the domain & hosting, just connect your domain with hosting using Nameservers [1], install WordPress on your hosting and start building the website on your own. It’s pretty simple and even non technical persons can create the website. Just look around Google or Youtube and start building your website. Just make sure your website has at least 4 pages: Home, About, Portfolio & Contact. The Contact Page should have the option to contact you on Fiverr. I will also post another article & video and show you how to create a portfolio website in just 30 minutes and without knowing programming or anything. It’s not that hard actually seems.
[1] Nameservers: It's one kind of identifier. Your hosting company will give you two Nameservers. It looks like this: NS1.COMPANY_NAME.COM & NS2.COMPANY_NAME.COM. You have to put these two Nameservers in your Domain and then your domain will be connected with your hosting. If you buy domain & hosting from the same company then you don't need to do any of those. But it will be required if you buy your domain & hosting from two separate companies and I recommend you buy your domain and hosting from two separate companies. Just keep them separate for safety precautions.
2. Build Backlinks for Your Fiverr Profile & Gigs:
In this context, Backlink refers to your website’s content link which will redirect your buyers/visitors to your Fiverr gig or profile.
Once you create some contents, offers or service packages on your website, link them with your Fiverr gig. For example- you are a graphic designer and you created an offer on your website about logo designing. At the end of your offerings create a button (Buy Now) and put your related Fiverr Gig’s URL. So they can buy the service from you on Fiverr. If you get orders like this way, your gig will be bumped up! Fiverr will keep track of this event and they will know that you are sending clients to their platform from outside of the platform. You will be awarded for this event.
3. Find a Rare or Critical Service in Your Niche:
This is very important if you are not already famous on Fiverr. Don’t get frustrated to see millions of sellers on Fiverr who provide the same services as yours. The good news is there are millions of buyers are exist as well. But the problem is- most of the buyers want to buy those gigs which already have multiple orders in queue.
To overcome this situation and to stand out from the crowd, find a rare or critical service in your niche. If you found something rare and if you’re confident enough then create a new gig for it. This will help you getting orders on Fiverr crowd. Honestly, this is the trick which best worked for me at the beginning of my career & at a certain period I never have to look back.
4. Bring New Clients to Fiverr From Your Portfolio Website:
As I said earlier, Fiverr keeps track of every incoming URL. We already discussed about it and once again I brought this as separate topic so you put your highest effort on bring new clients to Fiverr from your own website. Here new clients does not mean they have to signup/register on Fiverr from your backlinks. They could have account on Fiverr since 2019 or 2010, it doesn’t matter. The matter is- they are pretending to buy your Fiverr gig going back from your website.
But never manipulate this system. Keep things natural & act professionally. Never ask anyone or any buyer to go through your website for ordering your Fiverr gig. By manipulating this system your buyer will be frustrated and they will not trust you. They might feel lack of security. So keep things simple & natural.
5. Create a Questionnaire for Your Clients:
Every seller asks questions to buyers before and/or after placing an order. These questions allow sellers to gather necessary information and to complete the order. If you think more closely, you’ll see that many of the questions are common. Meaning you have been asking few specific questions to most of the clients. So create a questionnaire for your clients and send the questionnaire to your future clients while discussing on Fiverr. Just tell them to answer all of the questions and send it back to you on Fiverr inbox. Alternatively you can upload the questionnaire to your portfolio website and send them a Link of the questionnaire to download. Here is a sample questionnaire you can download, edit and use it on your own projects.
It will indicate few things about you:
- Seriousness about your profession.
- Ability to understand project requirement.
- Proficiency in your niche.
The questionnaire and the answer will also help you to complete your order more quickly & efficiently. Because you already have all the necessary information at one place. So you don’t have to ask questions during the development process (work in progress) over & over, and you don’t have to wait for buyer response. The buyer will be happy with you because they know that you have all the required information.
Another big advantage of the questionnaire is getting highest amount of conversion. If a client answers to your questionnaire and sends you back, it means they are very interested to work with you because they already expended time on answering to your questionnaire. And most of those client will not go back without ordering your gig because they already invested a significant amount of time for you. And finally, high conversion is the key to high rank of your gig.
6. Create Facebook PAGE for Your Fiverr Account:
Facebook already have a higher rank and having a PAGE on this platform will help your Fiverr journey a lot. At least, now you have a place where you can share your Fiverr profile & gigs. But don’t take it in the wrong direction. If you need inspiration, look for established other business pages and observe how they accomplished their Facebook Pages.
There are lots of ways you can take benefits from your Facebook Page. We will not go through each of them but here are few of them in a nutshell:
You will get an option to set a “Contact US” button on your Facebook Page. If you already created your portfolio website then put the link with the button. But if you do not have portfolio website then use your Fiverr PROFILE link instead.
Create Post on Facebook Like a Professional
Do not just post your gig links and profile link. Instead tell some story about how you helped other peoples by your creativity. Do not push people to buy your gig on Facebook Page, they might be afraid of you by doing so.
Avoid Making Silly Statements on Your Facebook Post
If you look around all over the web, you will find a lot of Facebook posts made by Fiverr Sellers. Only few of them are professional and rest of the posts are visually the same. It looks like an old dirty & torn shirt flying in the wind. People are afraid of those Facebook post. In my personal experience I saw a lots of post like this: “If you are looking for a.. .. . . . ….. …. . ., you are in the right place, ….. . . . . order now”. Believe it or not, people are afraid of those posts. So be aware of it and make sure you do not post like them.
You can take benefits from your Facebook Page differently. You’re also able to make paid advertising using your page but don’t go for it very soon.
7. Collect Leads from Your Website & Facebook Page:
Sometimes people are confused about the term “Leads”. Anyways, leads are nothing than Email IDs. Once your website receives small amount of traffics organically, signup for MailChimp. It’s free upto 2,000 (two thousand) subscribers and the 2,000 subscribers will be a nice start for you. Once you signed up for a MailChimp account, create a signup form on MailChimp Dashboard and put the signup form code into your website so people can subscribe for your newsletter. Once you started receiving subscribers, start sending them newsletter from MailChimp Dashboard and don’t forget to mention at least one of your Fiverr Gig URL or Profile URL. Alternatively you can collect leads using Facebook Paid Advertising but I don’t recommend it for you right now.
Once any of your subscriber buy your Fiverr gig via the email newsletter, you do not only get the order but also you will be rewarded for bring traffics/clients to Fiverr and your gig will be bumped up once again.
8. Focus on 1 Gig:
Since you are trying hard to rank your gig on Fiverr. So do not loose your focus by targeting your multiple gigs. Act like a tiger at the growing stage of your Fiverr career. If you don’t know, a tiger only targets one single deer while hunting & when it finds a herd of deer. This is just an example and not a bible. You can focus on your other gigs but it’s better to do it while you’re rolling sufficient clients.
That’s it! If you can do most of them, I’m pretty much sure you will succeed. I know these are hard to follow but these are the actual ways of ranking your gig on Fiverr. I also understand everybody will not be able to make all of these but you will be able to do, because you almost read the quite long article. So you have the highest desire and ability to absorb necessary pain. You are the person who awakes in the deep night and try hard to establish your career, you just don’t know about your hidden super power. You can do it because you are more than excellent.
